Before you purchase...
We're so glad for your consideration of one of our special pups! Please think through the decision of adding a four-legged member to your family very carefully, and be sure you and your loved ones are ready to give your new pup the time and commitment he or she will need. Pups do not magically become well-trained dogs overnight and will need LOTS of patient, consistent training and socialization. Remember, your puppy will only be as well-behaved as you train him or her to be! Read on for some info on our puppies and answers to commonly asked questions.
We do not remove dew claws. It is an unnecessary and outdated practice, and dews are like a dog's 'thumbs' attached to tendons in a dog's forelegs which assist in running, turning, and sometimes climbing out of steep or slippery situations in nature. They do however need to be kept trimmed. If the new owner still wishes to remove them, it can be done during the dog's spay or neuter surgery.
While we fully support and encourage spaying or neutering your dog, we recommend against having it done before one year of age as altering a puppy too early can contribute to hip and joint problems in medium and large breed dogs.
We do not ever offer monetary refunds. Any deposits made on pups are non-refundable. (Please note: we do not accept checks.) If for any reason you must rehome your puppy, please contact us first, and we will assist you in rehoming him/her, or we will take the pup back. A rehoming fee may apply.
We do offer a hip/elbow guarantee on our puppies. Hip problems can be caused by a number of factors, including poor nutrition, too much exercise at a young age, or overfeeding. If the dog has been bred before two years of age, this voids any and all guarantees. If no pups are available at the time, we will put you on our waiting list for the next available litter.
Our puppies will receive their first set of shots and have multiple dewormings done before going home with you. They will go to your home with their own puppy kit which includes health records, sire and dam info, training tips, a baggie of the food they have been receiving, and more! Be sure to take the health records along on your puppy's first vet visit; this will answer most or all of the questions your vet may have regarding deworming schedule, vaccinations, etc.
All our puppies come with Limited Registration. Limited Registration simply means that the dog can be registered with the AKC but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration, and the dog cannot compete in conformation shows. If the dog is intended to be a therapy animal or indoor pet, many facilities require that the dog is altered, because spaying or neutering a dog greatly reduces the chances that the dog will attempt to mark its new surroundings. Therefore AKC Limited registration is perfect for dogs intended as therapy and indoor pets! We may occasionally agree to releasing full registration at our discretion, provided several conditions are met, and an additional fee is due. If you are interested in conformation showing or breeding please let us know when you contact us regarding one of our pups.
